My name is Macarena Aguilar Tau (MAQ) and I work with sound. I graduated as an orchestra conductor from the National University of La Plata (UNLP) and am currently specializing in sound at the National University of the Arts (UNA). I am based in Buenos Aires and work across different artistic and academic fields related to music and sound art.
In my work, I use acoustic instruments, recordings, electronics, and experimental devices to create compositions, performances, and installations.
I have created sound design and original music for dance, performance, theater, and video. I have presented my music as a solo artist at festivals and concerts in different countries across the Americas and Europe.
I have also published and presented my research at national and international academic and artistic gatherings.
I am a university lecturer and also teach my own sound creation workshops.
